Remembering the Siege: Roses of Sarajevo

For the rest of the world, the four-year-long Siege of Sarajevo, which began in 1992, has been relegated to the pages of history books. But on the streets of the Bosnia and Herzegovina capital, small craters left from mortar damage are now filled with red resin and act as constant reminders of the horror and tragedy of what became the longest siege of a city in the history of modern warfare.
