Over 3.8 million Syrians have been uprooted and forced to flee to the safety of neighboring states causing strands of the Syrian spirit to be gradually woven into a much broader regional tapestry. Refugees bring pieces of their homeland with them: memories of the past, pains of the present and dreams for the future. While official UN camps have received the bulk of the international media’s attention, over 80% of Syrians are living in the shadows of Jordan’s cities, towns and villages.
