Colombia's New President Faces a Coming Clash With Venezuela

Duque wants to change that. He already said he will not send an ambassador to Caracas. But he wants to go much further. He wants to remove Colombia from UNASUR, a regional grouping that was created during the height of Latin America's “pink tide,” as an alternative to the OAS. The OAS, according to its Latin American critics, gave too much power to Washington. Duque maintains that UNASUR has become an “accomplice” of the Venezuelan dictatorship.
