The Diplomat

One of two publications to repeat as our Top Five World News Sites, The Diplomat continues to be one of our go-to sites when it comes to information and commentary across the continent of Asia. First published in 2002, the Tokyo-based The Diplomat provides robust content from respected writers such as Minxin Pei, Richard Weitz and Meir Javedanfar, in addition to a half dozen blogs covering topics from China's rise to America's security challenges in the Asia-Pacific region. "This has been another exciting year for The Diplomat as we've more than doubled our readership and expanded our coverage with the introduction of three new blogs," said editor Jason Miks. "Our Flashpoints blog, which focuses on defense and security, has attracted a loyal following and is led by U.S. Navy War College professor James Holmes and Wired's David Axe. We have also broadened our range of contributors, with recent writers including U.S. Rep. J. Randy Forbes, Mitt Romney foreign policy adviser Robert O'Brien, former British Foreign Secretary Sir Malcolm Rifkind and Baroness Kinnock."
